Built by our shop · Launching on iOS
"It'll be ready
sometime this week."
Every rider has heard it. You drop off a bike you rely on and then you know nothing — not what is wrong, not what it will cost, not when you get it back. You call. They are busy. You call again.
We got tired of being on the other end of that conversation, so we built the fix.

For riders · The whole idea
Four stages. That is it.
Not a dashboard, not a portal, not a login you will forget. Four stages, updated by the person actually holding the wrench.
- 1
Received
Your bike is checked in. You can see it landed safely.
- 2
Waiting on parts
The honest stage. You know why it is waiting, not just that it is.
- 3
In progress
On the stand, being worked on right now.
- ✓
Ready
Come and get it. No phone tag, no "should be soon".
What riders get
Free, and actually useful
No marketplace, no lead fees, no cut of your repair. Cycologist makes its money from shops paying a flat monthly fee — which means it has no reason to sell you anything.
Know where your repair actually is
Four stages, updated by the person holding the wrench. The end of calling on a Thursday to be told it will probably be ready Friday.
A service history that follows the bike
Every tune, every part, every date, kept per bike. Useful when something recurs. Genuinely valuable when you sell it.
PEDAL ride tracking
GPS logging for your rides, with distance, route and history. Built for how people actually ride e-bikes, not how racers train.
A forum organized by your exact bike
Not "electric bikes" in general — your model. And when a shop answers, you can see it came from a verified shop rather than a stranger with a theory.
Group rides and shop events
See what is happening locally and turn up. The part of cycling that keeps people cycling.
Rate the shop afterwards
Honest, attached to a real repair. Which is a slightly nerve-wracking thing for us to build, and exactly why it should exist.
Why a bike shop built an app
Because we were the problem too
For years our repair queue lived on paper tags, a whiteboard and Kyle's memory. It mostly worked, right up until it did not — and when it did not, the person who paid for it was always the rider standing at the counter being told something vague.
We looked at what existed. It was all marketplaces: platforms that sit between you and a shop, take a cut of the repair, charge the shop for the privilege of meeting you, and push you toward whoever pays the most that week. That is not a tool for a local shop. It is a toll booth in front of one.
So Cycologist charges shops a flat forty dollars a month and takes nothing from the repair. It does not rank shops by who paid. It does not sell you parts. It has, by design, no financial reason to get between you and the person fixing your bike.
It is not a marketplace. It is the missing window into a shop you already chose.
Questions
How much does it cost?
Rider Free is free permanently — booking, repair tracking, bike history, shop ratings and forum access. Rider Plus adds PEDAL ride tracking, group rides, forum posting and social features, and is also free while Cycologist is getting started. No card, no trial countdown.
Do I need my shop to be on it?
For booking and tracking a repair, yes — that half only works if a shop is on the other end. Everything else, including your garage, ride logging and the forum, works regardless. We are on it, obviously.
Is it on Android?
Not yet. iOS first, Android after. Join the list and you will hear the day Android is ready.
Can my bike shop see my rides?
No. Your ride data is yours. The shop sees what it needs to service your bike, and nothing else.
Who built it?
We did — this shop. It came out of eight years of watching riders have no idea what was happening to their bike, and shops running repair queues on paper tags and memory.
Run a bike shop yourself? The shop side is below — founding stores get four months free.
Be on it from day one
Bring your bike in for a service and we will set you up in about a minute — your bike, your history, your repair, live on your phone.
Or just come in — (561) 677-2622, 5501 N Federal Hwy, Ste 2, Boca Raton.
For shops
Your service board, your bookings, your customers.
The other half of Cycologist is the bit we built for ourselves first — the board that replaced our whiteboard, our paper tags and Kyle's memory. If you run a shop, this is what you would actually be using every day.
Kanban service board
Every ticket on one board, by stage — received, waiting on a part, in progress, ready. The rider sees the same stages you do, live, which ends most of the phone calls.
Booking intake
Riders request service from the app. You approve or decline before anything lands on your board, so nobody books your Tuesday for you.
Walk-ins too
Ticket someone at the counter who has never heard of the app. The board is the whole queue, not just the app half of it.
Analytics
Turnaround time, monthly volume, who comes back — and who has quietly gone dormant and is worth a message.
Engage
Post events and message your own customer list. Yours, not rented back to you by a platform that also sells your competitor the same names.
Verified shop badge
Answer in the model forums as a shop rather than as a stranger with an opinion. Quietly the best advertising there is.
What it costs
Four months free, then forty dollars a month.
Flat. Not per ticket, not a percentage, not a cut of the repair. We priced it that way because every alternative we looked at made its money by getting between a shop and its own customers, and we were not going to build another one of those.
- No card to start
- You keep all of the repair revenue
- Your customer list stays yours
- No ranking shops by who paid the most this week
