Pedego Avenue Pro

The Avenue with a 750-watt motor, a third more battery and a suspension fork — 56 miles a charge against the Core's 42. The one to buy if you ride most days rather than most weekends.

  • 750W motor, 85Nm of torque — half again the Core's 500W
  • Up to 56 miles per charge, against 42 on the Core
  • Suspension fork and four-piston brakes for everyday mileage
Pedego Avenue Pro

The Core and the Pro are the same bike in every way that decides whether you enjoy riding it — same frame, same upright position, same rack, fenders and lights fitted as standard. The extra $500 buys the parts that decide whether you are still riding it in year three.

The motor goes from 500 watts to 750, and torque from 75Nm to 85. You notice that pulling away from a light with a week of shopping on the back, and you notice it again on the bridges. The battery goes from 10.5Ah to 14Ah, which is the difference between 42 miles and 56. And the rigid fork becomes a 60mm suspension fork, which does more for your wrists on patched-up bike lanes than any spec sheet makes it sound.

The four-piston brakes and the two extra gears are real improvements, but they are not the reason to buy this one.

If you ride most weekends, the Core is the honest answer and we will tell you so at the counter. If you ride most days — or if your route has a bridge on it — the Pro is the one that stops asking you to compromise.
