Who rides these
You have a space problem, not a riding problem. A boat that needs a tender. A condo with no bike room and a building that takes a dim view of bikes in the elevator. An RV. A second home.
The constraint decides the purchase before anything else does, and that is fine — a folding bike you can store beats a better bike you cannot.
What to check before you buy
Measure your locker, your trunk, or your closet, and bring the measurement. Folding bikes vary a great deal in folded size, and “it folds” is not the same as “it fits.”
Also worth knowing: small wheels never ride quite as smoothly as large ones over rough pavement. Some of our folders use fat tires specifically to claw back that comfort, and the difference between them is obvious once you have ridden both.
Salt air, specifically
If the bike lives on a boat, it lives in the worst corrosion environment there is. Ask us about anti-corrosion treatment and a rinse routine — ten minutes of habit adds years to the bike.
